We proudly present the C-47 Skytrain “Gooney Bird” WWII Era Military Transport display model. The model is made of all hardwoods, the weight and detail are amazing. The body, wings, and matching stand are mahogany with other hard woods used for the windows, propellers, and small detail pieces.
The Douglas C-47 Skytrain, nicknamed the Gooney Bird, was a military transport aircraft used throughout World War 2 and remained in heavy use through the 1950’s. Used by US Army Air Forces and the US Air Force the C-47 was also modified to a troop transport variant, the C-53 Skytrooper.
