Introduced in 1944, the B-29 Superfortress saw service after World War 2 and was retired n 1960. Used by the United States Army Air Forces and later the United States Air Force. A high altitude day time and low altitude night time strategic bomber, the B-29 carried the atomic bombs the destroyed Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
